A Culinary Journey in Gascony
by Kate Hill
Ten Speed Press, 2004
Gascony is the stomach of France. It's richest farm region. The land of foie gras, pruneaux and Armagnac. There is nobody with a more romantic soul than my dear friend, Kate Hill. This is book of recipes, photos and reminiscences tells the story of her magical canal barge, the Julia Hoyt, and her Long Village along the canal in Gascony.
I have a copy of the first edition. It is dogeared from use and stained with sauce but still a prized possession.
It's out of print but you can still find it on Amazon.
