Note to gardeners. Mother Nature loves to be unpredictable. This probably doesn't apply to anyone but me...but we're expecting frost here tonight...and the lilacs are in bloom.... So if I had planted my beans a few days ago and they were happily germinating under the warm soil they would be severely set back tonight or even die if I didn't cover the ground with a frost blanket. A week ago there was no frost predicted. So this is unexpected and new---out last frost day is may 18th typically but is has been earlier the past few years. Our apples across the state may take a hit this year as they are just blooming. So keep an eye on the weather. That goes for thunder storms and wind too. Last year my bean poles got blown over and everything was in a tangle between poles.
