Some of the plants had to come down because they're getting ugly -- they're planted in my front garden. Those were the plants that had started to climb the tree. I picked the last of the yellowed pods, most of them ready to shell; a few I will allow to dry ripen on the counter before adding the beans to the jar. A few pods remain stuck in the tree -- I have to get a ladder to bring them down.
The beans growing in the pot I'm letting grow; they are flush with juicy green pods. Maybe they'll manage to ripen before the first frost; who knows. Regardless, I'm giving 1 quart to the cause -- about 1.5 lbs.
